    Yes, I recapped the Heathkit AS 101's that I owned a couple of years ago. It made a noticeable improvement in their sound and I highly recommend replacing capacitors that are that old (approx. 40 years old). Their values have probably shifted quite a bit in 40 years. That recap was my first thread here back when I joined this forum in February 2009. It's embarrassing for me to read this thread--I was really ignorant when I joined this forum (even more than now!). Here is a quote from the thread that gives the capacitor values and some pics. Hope this helps....
